THE TROPICS COME TO LIFE!
Hey Folks, First of all, what a great and beneficial rain across the Avalon today. Some steady rains for a good chunk of the midday today had to be great for the water table and of course all the plants in the gardens. It's still raining as I type this... so I'm not sure how much rain has fallen. But I'll have the total for you tonight on Here & Now. Here's what happening over the next few days. -As this Low exits out to the Northeast, High pressure will settle in behind and really clear things out into Wednesday. Now, initially winds will be in from the North in Newfoundland. So you folks along the Northeast coast should expect fog and drizzle early tomorrow with things clearing through out the day. -High pressure should continue to dominate for the entire Province on Thursday. -I'm tracking a Low pressure system and Cold front which are moving across Northern Canada this week. I think that Cold front will slice it's way into Labrador on Friday and then could make it's way into Newfoundland sometime Saturday. THE TROPICS HEAT UP! The National Hurricane Centre has upgraded it's second storm of the year... Tropical Depression Two. TD One formed back in late May and didn't end up making landfall anywhere. And by the looks of the forecast models, TD Two will likely have the same fate. Most of the models aren't showing much in the way of development and aren't showing landfall either. However, the Cluster of Thunderstorms rolling off the Coast of Western Africa is a different story. The Low has yet to named, but the forecast models seem to jumping all over this thing, blowing it up into a nice big Storm and possibly a Hurricane. At best this storm is 10-14 days away from making landfall anywhere. And no one, not even the computer models know where it go and how strong it will really be. That said, I'm keeping a close eye on it and I'll keep you up to date as it crosses the Atlantic. *Final Note- I'm off on holidays tomorrow through Friday, so again Clarenville's own Steve Stringer will be taking the reigns for the rest of the week.
