A Damp Start To Regatta Day

Hey Folks,

There's a bit of a change in the Regatta Day forecast. That system I've been watching off to the South, looks as though it will indeed back into the Avalon overnight/tomorrow morning. Here's the latest afternoon forecast model run from the Canadian model.

Here's the look as of 6am... clearly some rain to the South with a chance of showers as far North as the St. John's area.

However by mid-day the system is gone and things will be clearing out.

Now with all that said... the American model is keeping the system off to the Southeast... and keeping St. John's dry. So there is still a chance the rain could pass to the South. But I'm putting a 70% chance on the rain. Less than 5 mm.

Either way, I think the afternoon will be mainly cloudy with some sunny breaks and temperatures around 20 or 21.

THE WIND? The best news of all is that the winds will be light tomorrow. In the morning they will be very light. In the afternoon they will be less than 15 km/h and in from the South Southeast. In the late day becoming 20-25 km/h.

Get the latest up to date forecast... tonight on Here & Now.

Your Comments

Ryan,
You are by far the best weatherman on TV. That includes the rest of Canada and the USA. I will be much surprised if we can hold onto you here in Newfoundland. Some other network will soon be making you a can't refuse offer.
