Monday Soaker?
Hey Folks, -As I've been mentioning on Here & Now... I'm watching a system which is heading into Newfoundland tomorrow with a shot of Rain. However it looks as though it's going to be primarily an Eastern Newfoundland system. With anywhere from 20-35 mm from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon. I think St. John's and the Northeast Avalon will see around 25 mm. And Yes, it's looking as though the showers could linger right into Saturday now as this system will be tracking slower than first thought. -You folks in Central could see a few showers from this as well... but less than 5 mm. Western Newfoundland will remain dry from now right through the weekend. -In Western Labrador it's COOL! Just 12 or 13 degrees today and again tomorrow. That Low parked over Northern Labrador is continuing to sit and spin drawing that cooler air in from the North and just a few showers each day off and on right through the weekend. However your temps should start to rise into next week. MONDAY/TUESDAY SYSTEM Monday and/or Tuesday is looking very interesting for perhaps the entire Province... but particularly Newfoundland. Both the American and Canadian models are taking a system coming out of the Rockies tomorrow... tracking it through the Great Lakes this weekend and then bringing it into Newfoundland with a nice juicy shot of rain early next week. Here's a snapshot from the morning Canadian model run. The Bulleye in Eastern Newfoundland is showing between 40 and 50 mm of rain. This is the look from the American GFS model which is showing a similar sized system coming in late Monday/early Tuesday with more rain for the West Coast as well. I'm keeping a close eye on this system... and I'll keep you up to date. Ryan Your Comments
