Your Weekend Forecast

Hey Folks,

Alright time for a final weekend update. I'm headed on holidays for a few days... so while I'm away... the pride and joy of Clarenville, Newfoundland will be filling in for me. Steve Stringer is a Meteorologist who is actually working for the Weather Centre in Toronto. So he'll be doing the Weather forecast for Here & Now while I'm away. He's a great guy and he knows his stuff and knows this Province like the back of his hand. So please welcome him with open arms.

Alright onto the Weather.

SATURDAY
Saturday is looking good across the entire Province. Sunshine for everyone. Now with our area of High pressure settled over Labrador. Winds across Newfoundland will be in from the North and that's going to keep things quite chilly. I think 17 to 19 degrees is on the menu for most. In Labrador 21 to 22 degrees.

(I think this model is over blowing the light showers you're seeing along the South Coast, I don't expect anything until late evening Saturday)

SUNDAY
I'm still watching Invest 97 a Low pressure system working up the U.S. East Coast today. It's got a lot of juice with it and there's no doubt, the Maritimes is going to get a good smack from this thing.
The question still remains, what will the system have in store for Newfoundland when it arrives on Sunday?

I think overnight Saturday night into Sunday the rain will start to spread in across the Island.

Sunday morning is looking wet for most across the Island. With some showers... but this won't be a soaking rain. Unfortunately for you folks running the Tely Ten it will be damp. Winds on Sunday morning will be in from Southeast and so it will be foggy as well for the Southcoast, the Southern Shore and the Avalon.

By Sunday afternoon our system should be exiting out to the East and High pressure will be settling in from the Northwest. Expect clearing from West to East. With the best chance of afternoon sunshine in Western Newfoundland.

Once again you folks in Labrador are in for a great Sunday.

I'll have your latest forecast tonight on Here & Now and as I mentioned Steve Stringer will be filling for me tomorrow and a few days next week.

Have a great weekend.

Ryan
