Weekend Details

Hey Folks,

Well at this point the weekend at hand isn't looking too bad really. It could be better... but it could be worse as well.
Here'a a breakdown on what's in store.

SATURDAY
-Not a great day in Eastern Newfoundland... but not horrible either. A Cloudy, gloomy start with some light drizzle kicking around. Sunny breaks in the afternoon. 22 degrees.
-Central Newfoundland has the best looking Saturday in the Province. A mix of sun and cloud with some afternoon clouds rolling in from the west. High 27! Enjoy it.
-Western Newfoundland will see Morning clouds rolling in from the West with showers starting in the early afternoon. Evening into the overnight will see steadier rains moving in. High 26
-Northern Peninsula and Straits- A nice day as well. Morning Sunshine with increasing afternoon clouds. Overnight showers.
-Eastern Labrador will see Cloudy skies with Sunny breaks... chance of afternoon showers. High 15
-Western Labrador, expect Cloud cover with a few showers kicking around. High 17-19

SUNDAY
As you can see Sunday looks wet for ALMOST everyone. The entire Island is for sure going to be seeing showers through out the day. However in Labrador, if you're North of Postville, you're going to have a pretty nice Sunday. It will be cool but nice. Clouds and Showers to the South. Rainfall totals... I want to take a look at the afternoon model runs... so I'll have the totals tonight on Here & Now.

NEXT WEEK?
-The American and Canadian models have very different ideas on next week.
-The Canadian is showing a strong High moving in from the North and clearing us out early next week. The High would keep another system brewing up to the South... just off the Coast for Wednesday/Thursday.
-The American model is showing that High will be much weaker. It's showing everyone Southeast of Lake Meville (including Newfoundland) to be wet from our weekend system until Tuesday. After that the High clears Labrador out... but isn't strong enough to keep that Southern system off the Coast of Newfoundland. As a result, the American model is showing a pretty wet Newfoundland forecast right through next Wednesday with clearing on Thursday.

Hi Ryan!
I live in Ladle Cove NL, just wondering why this summer has been very cold out here along the northeast coast, the wind will change around noon and become easterly but inland like Gander it stays hot. Usually by July it's hot out here too, do you think this trend will change?, today is pretty hot though! Love to watch your forecast on CBC!
