Watching Invest 97
Hey Folks, I would like you to meet... Invest 97. It's not a Hurricane, it's not a Tropical Storm, it's not even a Sub Tropical Storm. At this point it's just a cluster of Thunderstorms sitting in the Eastern Caribbean Sea. Over the past few days I've been watching the models flip-flop back and forth on just how big this system will get... and more importantly where it's headed! And as you can see, there are TONS of different ideas. Every line you see below, is a different model with a different solution on where the storm will head.
So I was a bit surprised to see the Canadian GEM forecast model this morning, which blows this system up into an impressive system, runs it right up the Eastern Seaboard and into Newfoundland on Sunday. I was surprised mostly because the odds are really against this system developing at this point. The National Hurricane Centre in the U.S. has this listed this system under the LOW potential category. Mainly because the upper level winds remain really unfavorable for strengthening. However with that said, I'm still watching this thing closely because it could still mean the difference between a nice weekend or a soaker of a weekend on the way. Ryan Your Comments
