What a Crazy Day!

Hey folks,

It's not a cold, it's not a warm front, it's kind of something in between. It's a frontal boundary and it's having a big time effect on the weather in the Province today... and will continue to do so into Saturday and even Sunday morning.

The Boundary is sitting over Southern Labrador, through the Straits and along the Northern Peninsula. In those areas showers and cool temperatures will dominate over the next 36 hours for sure.

Let's give you a bit of an example. In Corner Brook area today the temperature is 27 or 28 degrees today. The Sun is out. It's a great day.

However you work to the North along the Northern Peninsula... and look at the scene in St. Anthony at the airport. Rain and just 6 degrees!!! That's the frontal boundary at work.

Work to the North and the sun is shining in Happy Valley Goose Bay and it's 15 degrees!

Crazy.
Alright, onto the weekend.

Saturday

That boundary will remain in almost the same place. So it will be another unsettled day in Southeastern Labrador... through the Straits and along the Northern Peninsula. Rain showers and cool temperatures. But from Cartwright to Happy Valley Goose Bay and North and West... it's looking like a decent day. And same thing for the South. From Gros Morne, South and East across the Island, things are looking good for Saturday.

Sunday

High pressure will crawl in from the North helping to eat away at that unsettled front. However, I think the same areas will see some showers on Sunday morning. Now, that area of High pressure will sink South into Newfoundland helping to keep a developing system to South. That system will be spinning away near Nova Scotia and gaining strength. The model is showing signs that the South coast of Newfoundland could see a shower on Sunday and I think it's certainly possible. Everyone from Corner Brook to St. John's will see Cloudy with Sunny periods. Again a pretty decent day in most of Labrador with the chance of morning showers.

We love your weather reports, so lively and natural. We even tape if we are out at news time. I would like to know what time and what direction the wind will be blowing at the time the sun crosses the line on the first day of summer. Very important in NL
