Questions about Sunday...

Hey Folks,

Well what a week it's turning out to be in the Province... especially in Newfoundland. Both Newfoundland and Labrador are seeing temperatures 5, 6, and 7 degrees above seasonal. In Newfoundland it's been nothing but sunshine, while you folks in Labrador have been dealing with some afternoon showers and thunderstorms... but the warm air must feel nice.

Points moving forward...

-As we march over the next few days High pressure will continue to dominate across the Island. Sunshine will be the name of the game from now right through until Saturday. There's a chance the Northern Peninsula, the Bay of Exploits and Northern parts of Central could see a shower late Thursday and again on Friday.

-Things will remain unsettled in Labrador with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow. Another front will slide in from the West, and so there's a chance of showers in Labrador for Friday and Saturday as well... however the sun should be around as well.

-Temperatures will remain in the mid 20's in Newfoundland right through until Saturday. In Labrador temperatures will drop just a bit for Friday and Saturday but will still be around seasonal.

So that brings us to...
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

What will Sunday look like? It's a good question and one which has yet to be answered. The forecast models are back and fourth on whether a system approaching from the South will move in or not.

Below is a snapshot of the American GFS model run from this morning, which you can clearly see brings a decent shot of rain into Newfoundland on Sunday.

Now the Canadian model, is thinking that the area of High pressure you see to the North will be strong enough to keep that system to the South. As a result, Sunday would be nice.

I would say the chance of seeing showers on Sunday is lower today than it was yesterday. However, we're not totally out of the woods.

I'll keep you updated over the next few days.
