How Much Rain?

Hey folks,

There's no doubt, there's a decent shot of rain on the way to Newfoundland over the next 48 hours or so. Labrador will get a nice little shot as well... but the bulk of the rain seems labeled for Southwestern Newfoundland and into Central.

I've pasted below the Accumulation rainfall map from the Morning run of the Canadian GEM model... these are totals from Tonight until Sunday at 5pm.

You can se the bullseye seems to be Southwestern Newfoundland... where Port Aux Basques to Stephenville... maybe even as far North as Corner Brook could top out around 50 mm! Burgeo and East into the St. Alban's area would be in that 40-50 mm range as well.
The Humber Valley, Grand Falls-Windsor, The Bay of Exploits, Gander could all be around the 40 mm mark.
The Northern Peninsula, The Burin Peninsula and the Bonavista Peninsula look like safe bets to come in around 20-30 mm's.
I think St. John's the Avalon will be closer to 15-25 mm.

In Labrador 10-15 mm across the South from Labrador City to the Straits is a good number.
North of Gros Water Bay 5-10 mm.

I'll have a look at the afternoon run and if there are any changes I'll update you...

Of course, much more tonight on Here & Now.

Ryan
