Better Idea About The Weekend

Hey Folks,

Well, the weekend is looking a bit clearer... in the sense of what's going to happen weather wise. Here are my main points moving forward.

-That cold front slicing through Labrador today, with showers and thunderstorms will drop your temperatures but clear you out for Friday. It's 28 today in Happy Valley Goose Bay. Tomorrow you'll only get to 17 or 18.

-That Front will only make it as far South as the Northern Peninsula on Friday as it runs into the area of High pressure responsible for all of our sunshine and fantastic temperatures across Newfoundland today and again tomorrow.... for most.

-The issue regarding the weekend, has been a system to the South and where that energy will go. Will the High pressure overhead now be strong enough to keep it to the South. How will the High pressure sinking in from the Northwest influence it? Well both the Canadian and American models have jumped on the same boat in terms of what they think will happen and it looks like a good solution.

-Saturday will see High pressure to the East and High pressure to the North. As a result the remains of the Old Cold front will be the track for some moisture to track up from the South. As a result, Southern Labrador will likely see some showers as well as the Straits and The Northern Peninsula. The West Coast of Newfoundland will see some sunshine but could see an afternoon shower as well. Central and Eastern Newfoundland will see Sunshine and clouds with temperatures in the low 20's.

-So the big question was Sunday. And it looks like Sunday will bring a good chance of showers in the same areas. Western Newfoundland and Eastern Labrador have the best chance of Sunday showers. There's a chance of showers in Western Labrador Sunday morning... and Central Newfoundland on Sunday afternoon. But the Sun should be out as well. Eastern Newfoundland A Mix of Sun and Cloud.

I'll have a final weekend update tomorrow.
