The Weekend...

... is looking pretty good. However if you're looking for the nice warm temperatures in Eastern Newfoundland to continue... you might be a little disappointed.

The nice warm temperatures in Central and Eastern Newfoundland are indeed headed out to sea. We have a Cold front which will slice across the Province through the overnight, bringing winds in from the West Northwest.

SATURDAY
High pressure will be sitting just to the Southwest of the Province... and will float there most of the day. As a result a Mix of Sun and Cloud is on the menu for everyone... mmm. But as I mentioned above, temperatures are looking cooler.
Eastern Newfoundland- Between 10 and 12 degrees
Central Newfoundland- Between 9 and 11 degrees.
Western Newfoundland- Between 6 and 8 degrees.
Labrador- Between 3 and 5 degrees.

SUNDAY
I am watching an Alberta Clipper approaching from the West. However, it's been slower coming in on the models over the last 24 hours. As a result Eastern and Central Newfoundland are looking at another nice day with some increasing afternoon clouds. In Western Newfoundland increasing midday clouds will bring some showers in... perhaps by dinner time. There's a chance it could be earlier than that... say 3 or 4pm. Again, we're still 48 hours away as I type this so... the timing could change. In Eastern Labrador... a few clouds rolling in for the afternoon is all you will see. However, in Western Labrador... a few showers or wet flurries will kicking around. That said, you could still see some sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures for Sunday look like this...
Eastern Newfoundland- Between 11 and 13 degrees
Central Newfoundland- Between 13 and 15 degrees
Western Newfoundland- Between 12 and 14 degrees
Eastern Labrador- Between 9 and 11 degrees
Western Labrador- Between 7 and 9 degrees

NEXT WEEK

I've been watching a Tropical type system hammer the U.S. Southeast and the Florida Peninsula over the past 3 or 4 days with flooding rains.

This is the first Tropical type system of the year... and of course the big question is... where will it go next. It's pretty slow moving right now, but it appears right now, as though it will get picked up by a sweeping Cold front across the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday or Wednesday. After that, it's headed Northeast. The models have been flip flopping on how intense this system will be... and when exactly it will arrive... however I'm thinking Thursday might be a safe bet. This thing could be juicy, so I'm watching it closely.

I'll track it through the weekend and give you another update Monday here on the blog.

Have a great weekend.
