System Moves In Friday-Saturday

First of all... I apologize for the lack of posts this week... I've been working on some new graphics for the show...but I'm trying to get back on schedule here now.

Alright, as you know it's a pretty nice day across the Province today. Pretty much everyone is getting a taste of Mr. Sunshine and temperatures are a bit warmer than they were yesterday. We have High pressure just to the Southwest and thats pumping the winds in from the West... instead of the Northwest which they were yesterday.

FRIDAY
As we move into tomorrow High pressure will move to the Southeast and that will have the WIND coming in from the Southwest. Yes, warm air is driving in!
However, that warm air has some rain in the back seat and that will spread West to East through out the day on Friday. Western and Northern Labrador you're first with showers beginning Friday morning... and temperatures around 8 degrees in the West. 4 degrees in the North. Eastern Labrador mid-day showers and temperatures around 7. Most of Labrador is looking at 10 mm by Saturday morning. However, I think 15 or 20 mm in Labrador City and Churchill Falls is a good bet. Good for the snow melt anyway.

Western Newfoundland you'll see early sunshine with some showers pushing in mid-afternoon. In Central you should see some sunshine on Friday morning as well, however the clouds will kick up in the afternoon and you'll be getting into the shower action around the supper time period or maybe even a little later. St. John's and the East a pretty nice day with increasing clouds in the afternoon and showers overnight.
Temperatures across on the Island Friday should be between 10 and 12 degrees.

SATURDAY
Looks pretty wet across Newfoundland. Our Low will track up in to the Labrador Sea... and the lingering Cold front will slowly drag across the Island drawing up lots of warmth and lots of moisture ahead of it. Temperatures will be around 11-13 degrees... not bad for early May.

Rainfall potential for Friday night and Saturday in Newfoundland at this point looks like this...
Eastern Newfoundland 20-30 mm
Central Newfoundland 10-20 mm
South Coast Newfoundland 25-35 mm
Western Newfoundland 20-30 mm
Northern Peninsula 10-15 mm

Saturday will be clearing out for you folks in Labrador. A few wet flurries will be kicking around but I think you'll see some sunshine breaking through the Clouds as well. However winds will be in from the Northwest and it be much cooler. Temperatures around -3 to -5 in Western and Northern Labrador. 0 to 2 in Eastern Labrador.

SUNDAY
Sunday at this point isn't looking too bad across the Province. Maybe a few wet flurries both across the Island and in Labrador... however some sunshine too.

I'll give you a better look at the weekend... tomorrow here on the blog.

See you tonight on Here & Now.

Ryan
