Storm Rolls In

Hey Folks,

As you likely already know we have a pretty decent sized system rolling in from the South today. This system has already dumped up to 40 cm of Snow through parts of New Brunswick overnight and this morning.

SOUTH COAST
We won't be seeing amounts anywhere close to that... however the South Coast of the Island from Cape Race, the Burin Peninsula and West over to Port Aux Basques could see 15-20 cm by Tuesday morning. Winds along the South Coast will be gusting to 100 km/h and so whiteout conditions will be a factor. The good news is... most of the South Coast will be seeing a late afternoon change over to drizzle which should help to pack some of that snow down. Overnight you'll change back to flurries and could pick up 2-5 cm.

NORTHEAST COAST
From St. John's to the Baie Verte Peninsula... including Deer Lake, Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander & Terra Nova will like see 5-10 cm... some places may locally see 15 cm... but again it will be the Winds that are the biggest problem.
Gusting to 90 km/h again whiteouts will be a concern.

THE WEST COAST
Wind, Wind & More Wind. Again about 10 cm of Snow from Stephenville, Corner Brook and up the Northern Peninsula. However winds gusting to 110 km/h along the Coast.

Extreme Northern Peninsula and up through the Straits to Mary's Harbour and Happy-Valley Goose Bay... you'll see 10 cm overnight tonight and into tomorrow with blowing Snow.

Cartwright to Postville- 10 cm Tuesday

Postville to Nain- 2 cm Tuesday

Labrador City- Just a few flurries.

More on Here & Now tonight.

Your Comments

Hi Ryan,
Good job on the weather. Nice to hear that you'll be sticking around. Sorry to say but as a Habs fan it's only fair to wear the Canadien jersey (especially seeing as it's the 100th anniversary). There are many Habs fans in NL going back to the time when HNIC was controlled by Molson's that owned the Canadiens at the time.
C'mon Ryan, you can do it ;-).
Cheers,
Steve
