Friday System Rundown

Hey Folks,

Quick recap from yesterday's storm...

St. Johns airport.......... 21.8 centimetres
St. Johns west............. 14.6 centimetres *
Argentia................... 8.0 centimetres *
Bonavista.................. 41.4 centimetres *
Terra Nova................. 31.1 centimetres *
Gander airport............. 20.2 centimetres
St. Lawrence............... 11.7 centimetres *
Winterland................. 5.0 centimetres *
Badger..................... 13.3 centimetres *

* estimated from automatic weather station report.

Now, here's a rundown of what's on the way for Tonight and into Friday.

-Light Snow will spread in through the overnight tonight with a good 2-5 cm shot of Snow for almost the entire Island.
-The Snowfall will spread into Labardor on Friday morning and will continue for the morning hours for Newfoundland. Another 5-10 cm will fall across the Island before the Snow changes over to Ice Pellets and Freezing Rain and then finally over to Drizzle. The transition will begin in the South and East and likely work as far West as Grand Falls-Windsor. Western Parts of the Island will likely see some ice pellets working in... however not until the later afternoon hours.
-Blowing Snow will be an issue for the South Coast of Newfoundland tomorrow morning... with the fresh snow and Winds gusting in from the South at 90 km/h. However, the afternoon drizzle should help with that.

So again, a good 8-15 cm shot of Snow for the Newfoundland by Friday night... with Ice Pellets and then Drizzle for Southern, Central and Eastern areas.
Eastern Labrador, a good 5-10 cm tomorrow... and another 5-10 cm overnight and into Saturday morning.
Western Labrador, 5 cm tomorrow and another 5 cm overnight.
