Hey Folks,
I hope you had a great weekend.
Another Low pressure system working up through the Maritimes is taking the very popular route this Winter and will track into the Gulf this evening and then over the Northern Peninsula as we move into Tuesday morning. As a result the Western part of the Island, up the Great Northern Peninsula and through the Straits will take the brunt of this system. We have a Winter Storm Warning in effect for the following areas with 15-20 cm's by Tuesday Morning.
Green Bay - White Bay
Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay.
Gros Morne.
Port Saunders and the Straits
Northern Peninsula East.
Even you folks living South of the Warning areas have been seeing some pretty good Snow falling this morning. Thanks to Michael Wall from Port Aux Basques for sending this photo in.

However, with the far Western track of this system there is lots of Warm air pumping North onto the Island. As a result, EVERYONE in Newfoundland living South of Port Au Choix and Englee will be changing from Snow to Ice Pellets to Freezing Rain and then to Rain as we move through the day and into Tonight.
In fact as of 1pm this afternoon we're already seeing that Snow/Rain line working from South to North.
You folks in Port Aux Basques, Stephenville & Burgeo have already seen the change over to a Mix or Rain and temperatures are above 0. Temps are up to 0 along the Burin as well... but will get much warmer tonight all the way to 7 by this evening!!! In fact most of the Eastern Island are in store for 6 or 7 degrees and showers by this Supper time tonight.
Tomorrow, the big story is the Cool down as the Winds wrap in behind this system from the West and Northwest we'll start to see temperatures dropping overnight in Western Newfoundland with Central and Eastern parts of the Island seeing the mercury drop throughout the day tomorrow... with drizzle in the morning changing to flurries late in the day.
Of course, I'll break it all down for you tonight on Here & Now.
