Wednesday Storm Update

Hey Folks,

Just a quick update on the system working in tonight and into Wednesday....

Jan13.JPG

The West Coast, Baie Verte Peninsula, The Northern Peninsula, The Straits to Batteau- 15-20 cm's
The Rest of the Province- 5-10 cm's with some local amounts pushing 15 cm's

Jan13-2.JPG

The South Coast- You folks living in Stephenville & Clarenville and anywhere South... including the Burin and Avalon Peninsula's will see an afternoon change over to Rain beginning with you folks right along the Coast.

*4PM UPDATE- Bonavista Peninsula will also see a change over to Rain in the mid-late afternoon time period.

The Other big story tomorrow will be the Wind. In fact we have Wind Warnings in effect for the Eastern part of the Island. The Avalon, Burin and Bonavista Peninsulas will all see gusts to 100 km/h in the Morning from the Southeast. And then again in the Evening from the West South West.

A full break down on this system tonight on Here & Now.

Ryan

P.S. It still looks like some of the Coldest air so far this Season is getting set to bust into the Province in behind this system for later this week. More on that tomorrow.

Your Comments

Hoping everyone remembers to bring their pets inside in the Lab City area. A porch or basement will do, but the -50 wind chill definately means all pets, even the outdoor ones like dogs, should be brought in.

Hey Ryan,

I have to send out a huge congrats to you. You have been adding so much expertise and knowledge to the CBC evening news broadcast. Usually, weather broadcasters are dry and boring, but you make the weather report interesting and enjoyable to watch!! I hope you'll be sticking around... it seems as though you're a smart, knowledgeable and interesting guy to have to the news. PLUS, I think many Newfoundlanders and Labradorians would agree that you've certainly upped the ratings for Here and Now... you're well liked! Congrats!

You do a great job! In the past a I depended on other weather reports, but I find that yours is always more detailed and accurate. Keep up the good work.

Great Job, Ryan. We take our
weather very, very seriously in
these here parts --- A familiar
question that is added to the daily
weather chit chat at the water
cooler... "What does Ryan say?" or
"Ryan was right about that."

As Shannon stated yesterday, please do not leave your pets outside for any length of time during this cold snap in Labrador. Even with their fur coats, animals can suffer from the effects of cold the same as humans.
Thanks!
