Update on Saturday's System

Hey folks,

Just a really quick update on the system working in on Saturday. Again, it's not a huge system but if you're traveling this weekend... it might be a pain in the neck... so here's the latest.
The Canadian GEM model (below) is still taking the system up into the Gulf.... bringing wide spread snow ahead of the system for the entire Island... and Eastern Labrador.

And then up through the Straits on Saturday evening.

- Again would allow enough warm air in at the surface to change a good portion of the Eastern Island over to Rain. I don't know if the Rain area will be as far West as this particular run is showing... but St. John's, the Avalon, the Burin and the Bonavista Peninsula's are a pretty good bet at this point.

- The American GFS model is also showing a more Westerly track now... with the centre of the Low tracking up across Gros Morne than into White Bay and out into the Atlantic. It's still showing a weaker system which wouldn't wrap as much warm air in and would keep that Rain/Snow line further East.

I'll have the latest tonight on Here & Now...

Ryan,
Love your weather reports - the best we've seen on local television in quite some time!

Hope the CBC sees how much NL viewers are enjoying your weather reports - you've brought a whole new dimension to Here and Now.
