THURSDAY STORM UPDATE

Hey folks,

I have to say... even 12 hours before this system makes landfall on Newfoundland... there still seems to be some uncertainty in the forecast snow totals. The exact track of this storm still remains a little up in the air...

Blue-5-10 cm
Green-10-15 cm
Yellow-15-20 cm
Orange-20-25 cm
Red-25 cm+

As you can see New Brunswick and the Maritimes will take the brunt of this system... here's a closer look at your backyard.

Jan292.JPG

The change over to Rain showers or drizzle could bring those totals down about 5 on the Avalon and as much as 10 cm on the Burin... depending on the time of the change over.

I'll have the latest forecast run and a full timeline... tonight on Here & Now.

Ryan

Hello Ryan, I want to congratulate you on the great job you are doing on Here & Now. I've been watching since Karl Wells was there and I must say you are the best weatherman yet. You've managed to catch on to some of the terminology/slang that we use when referring to certain regions of NL and this really helps viewers accept you. Keep up the good work! Guy

Hey Ryan,

Planning on trekking out over the highway this weekend. Environment Canada says "periods of snow" for Sunday. How much are we looking at bud?

Hi Ryan,
I must say you are doing a fantastic job and I hope CBC keeps you on. I haven't enjoyed watching the weather segment of Here and Now so much since Karl was a young whipper snipper. You are clear and concise in your reporting which makes for an easy to understand forecast. Keep up the good work! :)
