Storm Stats & Looking Ahead

Hey Folks,

This system pretty much played out like we thought it would... the winds were a HUGE factor.

Wreckhouse-155 km/h
Long Pond, CBS-117 km/h
Port Aux Basques-108 km/h
Argentia- 101 km/h

And the Snowfall was pretty much as expected... these numbers are as of 4:30 NT

Gander- 16 cm
Deer Lake-13 cm
St. John's 8-10 cm
Stephenville- 9 cm

Now the snow is still hanging on around the Baie Verte Peninsula this evening... however that will be clearing out overnight tonight with those winds slowly subsiding into tomorrow. In both Newfoundland & Labrador tomorrow we'll see light flurries tomorrow with less than 2 cm accumulating.

SUNDAY
A Few people have been asking me about the Snow coming Saturday night into Sunday. This doesn't look like a big shot right now... with 5 maybe as much 10 cm's of Snow for the Central and Eastern parts of the Island. Again starting Saturday night and tapering off through out the day on Sunday.

MAJOR WINTER STORM NEXT WEEK?
It's all the talk in the Weather world right now. A Major Winter Storm is brewing for the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. and into Ontario, Quebec and yes Atlantic Canada. Late Tuesday into Wednesday and Thursday is the time frame on this right now. However, as of now the track of this system takes it FAR FAR to the West... which would bring a ton of warm air in and yes.... Rain for entire Island... and maybe even Eastern Labrador.

That said, the track is still very much in question. So I wouldn't place any bets just yet.
As always, I'll keep you up to date.

Ryan
