What a Storm... And Another On The Way

What a storm indeed... and it's still not over for many.
The rainfall across the Island is pretty much done. However the snow is still flying across Labrador. Particulary in Churchill Falls and North up to Nain where the winds are gusting to 70 km/h and blowing snow is dropping visibility.
I see that this afternoon the Snow has changed over to Freezing Rain however tonight, you'll likely see a change back to Snow with temperatures dropping.

Here are Rain and Snowfall Totals as of 4pm NT.
St. john's 52.0 mm
Cape race 50.7
Argentia 48.1
Winterland 40.5
Bonavista 31.8
Terra nova 64
Gander 49.2
Daniels harbour 28.5
St. lawrence 36
Mary's harbour 23.5

Snowfall:
Cartwright 10 cm
Nain 12 cm
Goose bay 15
Churchill falls 12 cm
Wabush 8

For more on how this system will play out over the next 24 hours... tune into Here and Now tonight.

WEEKEND SYSTEM
An Alberta Clipper making it's way across the Great Lakes is headed for the Atlantic where it will take the warm air coming up the Eastern Seaboard and the Cold Polar air coming in from the Northwest and wrap up another nice fall storm. This system will track north over the Island Friday night, Saturday and even into Sunday.
Now, the last few model runs have been tracking the system a little further West which isn't good news for you folks in Corner Brook hoping to see the White stuff fall from the sky. The trend over the last 24 hours is certainly leaning more towards it being a rain event. But it's going to be a very close call... so stay tuned.
