Stormy Pattern Continues...
Hey folks,
I think if there's one word to describe the current weather pattern it's... Active.
There's a lot of cold air pushing South from the Arctic... and that's creating a lot of instability... especially where that warm air and cold air meet. The Jet Stream is often the dividing line between warm air and cold air and the highway for storms... and one look at the current jet stream and you can see that's the case right now.

With Cold air pushing that far South... the recipe for brewing up some decent sized systems is certainly there. AND with that much Cold air involved the likelyhood of snow is increased as well. Alright get to the point Ryan!
I'm watching two systems which are going to be tracking through the Province over the next 5 days or so. Both look to be good sized fall type systems. The first one up is moving in as we speak.

This system will gain strength as it tracks North bringing a good shot of rain for Wednesday-Thursday across the Island and Snow to Labrador.

This system is going to be a very close call for you folks living along the Coast of Labrador South of Groswater Bay. It could be your first decent snowfall of the season with 10-15 cm's possible on Wednesday... however a change over to Rain on Thursday will take care of any shoveling that you may need to do.
Full details on this system tonight on Here and Now.
And before I leave you I have to tell you about the system I'm watching for the weekend which could bring the first good snowfall to the Western part of the Island. Corner Brook residents I'm talking to you! I'll keep you updated as we march through the week.
