One November Day

One of the signs of spring is the big increase in the number of moose sightings across the province, but we want to take you back to one day in November with this audio/photo feature about moose hunting.
It was an important day for Scott Lahey. He went moose hunting for the first time without his father or grandfather. His friend Ross Connolly accompanied him to the woods surrounding Port Kirwan, a community on the Avalon Peninsula where Scott spent his childhood.
They invited CBC freelancer Jiri Slavicinsky to go with them. Instead of a rifle, Jiri took his microphone and experienced moose hunting as an important part of Newfoundland life. Ross helped Jiri with the photography and took most of the pictures for the piece.
