What would a 30-kilometre radius look like here?

This morning, we learned that the Japanese government is warning residents within 30 kilometres of the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant, in northeastern Japan, to stay indoors to avoid possible contamination. You can read more about that here.

That made us wonder: what does a 30-kilometre radius look like, and what might that mean here?
