From Tin Pan Alley to Radiohead, with a stop at the pub
What do Gillian Welch, Carole King and Radiohead have in common?
They all (yes, Radiohead!) made the playlist for Tom Power’s ever eclectic folk-roots program Deep Roots this weekend. The playlist can be consulted here. Carole King made the show for her belated rendition, from Tapestry, of her own Will You Love Me Tomorrow?, which - with its then-frank talk of sexuality from a young woman’s point of view - was enough for a ban, as Tom noted on his show’s program page.
Miss the show? No worries. You can stream it over the web right here. (Unfortunately, for rights reasons, Deep Roots is not available as a downloadable podcast. But, all things considered, this isn’t that bad.)
