Baling hay, mucking stalls and forecasting the Weather, it's what Ryan Snoddon was born to do. And being raised on a beef farm in Pefferlaw, Ontario, Ryan certainly has experience at all three.
He left the farm and headed for Belleville, Ontario, where he attended the Broadcast Journalism program at Loyalist College. While attending Loyalist, Ryan landed his first job reading & writing weekend newscasts at Quinte Broadcasting in Belleville. Shortly after graduation, Ryan joined the Wolf 101.5 in Peterborough, Ontario, as a Morning show Co-host.
Ryan's break into the weather world came in 2006 when he landed the Weather Specialist position at CHEX TV in Peterborough, where he enjoyed forecasting heat waves, thunderstorms and snow storms for Central Ontario.
In June of 2008, Ryan jumped at the chance to move to CBC in Newfoundland and Labrador, one of the stormiest and most beautiful places on earth. In just a few years, he's already had the chance to forecast massive Winter blizzards, ice storms and Hurricanes!
In 2011, Ryan graduated from the Broadcast/Operational Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University, achieving an Academic Excellence Award. Ryan is endorsed by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and also been awarded the seal of approval for Broadcast Meteorology from the National Weather Association.
