Ten semifinalists participated in a grueling two-day boot camp in Toronto, where they were put through the paces in a series of challenges testing their political mettle. They faced off against each other in a series of debates, mock Canada-US conflicts and staged media scrums. They were tested on their ability to think on their feet, communicate effectively to a variety of audiences and stand their ground on tough issues. Most importantly, candidates were judged on their ability to analyze, negotiate and convince the public to share their views.
The four candidates that made it into the finals will appear on Canada's Next Great Prime Minister on CBC Television. They are:
