Costa Maragos
Award-winning journalist Costa Maragos is the host of CBC News at Six in Saskatchewan.
Costa feels at home on the air in Saskatchewan. He grew up just a few blocks from the station and has been hosting the supper hour news since 1991. Costa started his CBC hosting career in Prince Rupert, B.C. His career in radio continued in Windsor, Ontario where he hosted the morning show followed by a network news reader position in Toronto.
Costa takes a hands on approach to the news as he participates in the program's key decisions. He thrives on doing live specials. He's hosted the last four provincial elections in Saskatchewan as well as other specials that have been broadcast across the province and country on CBC.
You'll also find Costa working a lot in the field. His documentaries have won numerous national and international awards and have received two nominations at the prestigious Gemini Awards.
Kaveri Bittira
Kaveri Bittira has a decade of journalism experience, that spans across the country.
She’s been living and reporting in the Bridge City since 2002, and now proudly calls Saskatoon her home.
Bittira started her journalism career with the CBC in her hometown of Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1999.
She originally started working for local CBC Radio morning show and as a daily reporter but soon found her storytelling passion in pictures ... so she made the move over to CBC television.
During her career, Kaveri has helped to report on some major breaking stories including the Aboriginal fishing and logging disputes of Burnt Church, New Brunswick; the Dutch Elm tree crisis in Halifax, Nova Scotia; flood coverage of the Red River in Manitoba; and the shooting deaths of two RCMP officers in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan.
Kaveri loves to be active in the Saskatoon community and volunteers her time to many organizations such as Saskatoon Family Services. She is an executive member of the Employee Assistance Program in Saskatoon and is the Director of Education and Mobilization for the National CBC Media Guild.
Kaveri graduated from St. Thomas University in New Brunswick with a Journalism Degree, and an English degree with a minor in International Relations.
Glenn Reid – Sports
Glenn Reid is one of the most respected sports announcers in Saskatchewan. He first moved into the anchor chair at CBC Saskatchewan in 1986 and has been bringing sports to the people of Saskatchewan since then. Those he interviews respect the knowledge he brings to the table, and viewers can trust that they'll always get the real story from Glenn.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Glenn began his broadcast career in radio at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba before moving to Yorkton, and then to Regina.
Glenn is an active member of the sporting community too; in addition to reporting on games, he has coached as well.
