Naming a pet can be an arduous process, fraught with indecision, family disagreement, and a whole lot of confusion on the part of your fuzzy new friend.
Reddit clearly appreciates this fact -- which is why whenever a truly clever, original, or otherwise amazing pet name surfaces, it tends to get the credit it deserves.

On Tuesday, one of the social news site's members stumbled upon what must be one of the most trafficked cat adoption listing pages of any animal shelter's website right now.

It would appear as though the Wisconsin Humane Society has no trouble giving its adoptable pets share-worthy names, as evidenced by the following screenshots:

"Someone at the Wisconsin Humane Society is really good at naming cats," wrote Redditor MacabreLullaby in the r/cats subreddit on Tuesday, linking to an image of three cats named "Professor PuddinPop," "Colonel Snazzypants," and "The Good King Snugglewumps."

Thousands upvoted the post, and hundreds more left comments applauding the shelter's naming efforts.

The post has garnered so much attention over the past 24 hours, in fact, that it's prompted the actual Wisconsin Humane Society staffer responsible for naming the cats to come forward.

"Hey my wife named these kitties!," wrote a Redditor called jimmerb83 Tuesday, linking to a photo of his wife. "Naming kitties awesome names is only a small part of all the awesome s*** she does. Here she is hard at work."

cassieboo.jpgWhile still on site at the Ozaukee Campus of the Wisconson Humane Society, Redditor cassybooby came forward to explain her process and assure Redditors that most of the kittens in her shelter get adopted in "under a week."

"For adult cats it's within a month which is amazing compared to the average length of stay for an adult cat at most shelters, which is over 3 months," she added.

When another Redditor showed cassybooby a photo of his or her own cat and asked what she would name him, the Humane Society staffer replied "Tim Tom Turtledove (joined by the Tambourine Band) <---that's if you get more cats. Sorry, I don't use Prefixes in all of my names."

She also shared a photo of herself holding "the dear Professor PuddinPop" (who has yet to be adopted!) of very recent internet fame:
