CbcCarter was the guest on The Colbert Report Tuesday night, and he texted his grandson, Jason, to ask if he'd caught the interview.

Jason Carter, who is running to be the Democratic governor candidate in Georgia, posted a screenshot of their iMessage exchange Wednesday evening. One trip to the @ColbertReport turns an ex-president into a text-president. Thanks @StephenAtHome http://t.co/3m461I5psjJason Carter"Who says you can't teach an old President new tricks?" the younger Carter wrote in a subsequent tweet.
