 The winner of Canada Reads 2014 was named Thursday after four days of intense literary debates. (CBC) 

CBC's annual battle of the books Canada Reads reached its pinnacle this week as five celebrity panellists faced off to determine which title is a must-read for Canadians in 2014.

A series of impassioned discussions between celebrity debaters and Q host Jian Ghomeshi ran from Mar. 3 to 6 at the CBC Broadcasting Centre in Toronto before live audiences, but you can catch the replays on CBC Radio One,, CBC-TV and documentary

This year's theme, One Novel to Change Our Nation, is about stories that can change your heart, change your mind, change your life and ultimately, change our country. 

Which novel was deemed to have the most power to inspire social change in our home and native land? 

The winner of Canada Reads 2014 is The Orenda, by Joseph Boyden, defended by celebrity panellist Wab Kinew!
