Join us Thursday, Nov. 14 to chat LIVE with Battle of the Blades finalists (from L-R): Marie-France Dubreil, Mathieu Dandenault, Jason Strudwick, Violetta Afanasieva, Amanda Evora and Scott Thornton!


Have you ever wanted to speak with a professional hockey player, ice-dancing champion, or reality TV superstar?

After weeks of intense and entertaining competition, CBC's Battle of the Blades is down to three final pairs and we gave you a chance to chat with all six finalists LIVE right here on CBCNews.ca. Watch the replay below.

Thursday at 4 p.m. ET, we chatted live via webcam with:

  • Violetta Afanasieva, 2006 World Extreme Ice Skating Champion. Born in Moscow, Russia, VIoletta now resides in Peterborough, ON and is competing along with her partner Jason Strudwick for the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes.

  • Jason Strudwick, former Edmonton Oiler and two-time Memorial Cup Champion. Jason is from Edmonton, AB and currently hosts Hockey Radio Talk Show in his hometown.

  • Marie-France Dubreuil, two-time Olympian, five-time Canadian Ice Dance Champion and two-time World Ice Dance Silver Medalist. Marie hails from Montreal, QC and is competing for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

  • Mathieu Dandenault, three-time Stanley Cup Champion with the Detroit Red Wings and 2003 World Champion. Mathieu was born and currently lives in Sherbrooke, QC.

  • Amanda Evora, 2010 Winter Olympian and two-time United States Pairs Silver medalist from Sarasota, FL. Amanda is competing for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation with her partner, Scott.

  • Scott Thornton, 18-season NHL veteran and 1991 World Junior Champion. Scott, who was born in London, ON and now lives in Collingwood, ON, has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Edmonton Oilers, the Dallas Stars, the San Jose S and the Montreal Canadiens.




To join the chat, simply:
