Your father may have taught you how to ride a bike, find the best library books, or grow the juiciest tomatoes in town.

Perhaps your dear old dad -- or papi, baba, tatay, pai, abba -- had a few favourite expressions that you can still say word for word. (Or that you find yourself repeating to the kids in your life, despite everything you promised yourself as an unruly 12 year old.)

This year, Father's Day falls on Sunday, June 16. In the lead up to this special day, the CBC News Community team is collecting life lessons from your old man.

We've already started by soliciting a few on Twitter using the hashtag #lessonsfromdad.

What's the best advice your father ever gave you? Did your dad tell you stories to inspire you, or cautionary tales to protect you?

Have you passed his lessons on to your own children, or others who look up to you?

Send your stories and photos to community@cbc.ca with the subject line "life lessons from dad."

You can also tag your tweets and Instagram posts with #LessonsFromDad. We'll be featuring the best tips on our blog!
