LIVE ONLINE: Oscar Nominations 2013

 The 85th Annual Academy Awards, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, will be telecast on Feb. 24, 2013 from Hollywood. (REUTERS/Fred Prouser)From Argo to Zero Dark Thirty, the field of potential Oscar contenders this year is huge.

Lincoln leads contenders for the 85th Academy Awards, earning 12 nominations including best picture, best director for Steven Spielberg and acting nods to Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.

Life of Pi, based on Canadian Yann Martel's 2001 novel, earned 11 nominations, including best picture, best director of Ang Lee and two nods for Toronto composer Mychael Danna's music (original score and original song).

The other best picture nominees are Beasts of the Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, Les Misérables, Austrian film Amour, Django Unchained and Argo.

IMDB's dynamic list of predictions peg Day-Lewis and Silver Linings Playbook's Jennifer Lawrence as shoe-ins for Best Actor and Best Actress, but nothing is set in stone (or gold-plated brittanium) until Sunday, Feb. 24 when the award ceremony takes place.
