During Canadian citizenship week, we asked CBC readers to remember or imagine adjusting to life in Canada, and to share their best tips for the newly arrived.

To our delight, we received a flood of kind words, weather-related warnings and even some distinctly Canadian humour. Most of the submissions were submitted on Twitter using the hashtag #CanadaTips.

Here are a few words of wisdom we especially liked:

These 140-characters contributions have inspired us to take our project to the next level by building an interactive advice map -- but to do this, we'll need your help.

Whether your journey began in Canada or somewhere else in this great big world, we invite you to participate in building this resource, which will be unveiled in coming weeks.

Submit your tips

Once we've gathered enough data, we'll reveal your wisdom in a dynamic format.

You tips will be mapped by your location in Canada as well as anchored to place(s) you identify as your cultural homeland(s).

Thank you in advance for participating! And a big thanks to those who have already submitted their tips!

Here's one more tip to get you moving!
