The B.C. government approved the Jumbo Glacier Alpine Resort on Tuesday.

The highly controversial year-round ski resort has been on the books for two decades, having gone through all regulatory approvals, but no government would sign off on it -- until now.

Right from the beginning, the project has faced stiff opposition from local first nations and environmentalists, who say the resort will undermine native land claims and destroy wildlife habitat.

The Liberals held a press conference Tuesday to announce the billion-dollar development, located 55 kilometers west of Invermere in southwestern B.C.

Do you agree with the plan to build the Jumbo Glacier Alpine Resort?

Why or why not? Let us know in the comments section below.
