November photo contest: Pick of the day

Categories: Community

Your photography has filed our November days with small wonders, with each close-up providing a unique view of the macro world. For the second day in a row, we have selected a blue flower -- but as community member Boysoblue proves, this category is blooming with possibilities.

Boysoblue did not provide any details about the image, which he or she simply called "Beautiful Blues." But this photographer of few words still caught the attention of the CBC Multimedia Team.

"Great shot! Infrared?" said CBC photographer Evan Mitsui, "Crazy colours. Love the blue ambient playing off the purple plant."

"I like the way the little green tendrils fade in and out of focus," Evan added. "It could stand to be exposed a stop or two higher, in my humble opinion. It might bring a bit more detail out in the main focal area of that plant, but otherwise, cool!"

cbc-shop-220.jpgThe Community team is still looking for your best macro shots and the Multimedia team will be on hand until the end of the month to provide tips on how to capture that perfect macro shot.

There are more tips on macro photography in our Nov. 3 pick of the day post.

The contest winner will receive a prize courtesy of the CBC Shop.
