Police are asking three B.C. teenagers to stop their masked crusade against men they accuse of being child predators.

Teens dressed as Batman and The Flash confront an alleged child predator. (YouTube)The male teens had been posing as young girls online in order to lure the men into meeting up with them. When the men arrived at the arranged meeting place, however, they were encountered by the teens -- dressed up as superheroes -- who filmed the encounters and posted them on the internet.

But police say the teenage vigilantes could be creating a risk for themselves and for other kids.
RCMP officers in Chilliwack, B.C., met with the teens, who teens subsequently retired their superhero costumes and pulled their videos.

Costumed crime fighters are more common in the U.S., where a community of vigilantes connected by social media is growing.

In Seattle, a "real life superhero" who goes by Phoenix Jones was charged with assault after he pepper sprayed a group he thought was involved in a late-night brawl. He was forced to unmask and reveal his real identity, Benjamin John Francis Fodor, in a court appearance in October.

Do you support vigilante justice? Or are these caped crusaders doing work better suited to the police? Let us know what you think.
