Postal strike: Send us your photos, videos and reports

Categories: Canada

Canada Post workers in Winnipeg walked off the job at midnight ET Thursday after rejecting last-minute contract proposals by the Crown corporation after more than seven months of negotiations.

Winnipeg is targeted first because it was first affected by Canada Post's modernization program, which the Canadian Union of Postal Workers says has increased risk of injury among workers.

The strike is scheduled to continue for 24 hours there before moving to Hamilton, where workers will strike for 48 hours. The postal workers' union is preparing to meet with Canada Post management officials Friday.

We want to know - and see - how the strike is affecting you. Are post boxes taped up in your neighbourhood? Can you see picketing postal workers? Is your small business' mail already piling up on the office desk? Send us your photos, videos and reports.
