Order Paper Wars: The NDP strikes back!

In the latest salvo in the seemingly endless battle playing out on the back pages of the Order Paper, New Democrat House Leader Nathan Cullen wants the government to detail exactly how much taxpayer money it plans to shell out to answer backbencher-posed planted questions on the putative price of various NDP-sponsored proposals.

Last week, the Conservatives opened a new front in the ongoing war with a flurry of written requests targeting NDP-backed private members' initiatives on everything from tax breaks for veterans to restoring federal oversight for beekeeping research.

In response, Cullen has filed a query of his own on the estimated cost of responding to those questions, which may very well trigger an even more meta question from the other side of the Chamber if yet another government backbencher inquires how much it cost to calculate that figure.

Stay tuned!
