Orders of the Day - Good news, maple syrup producers!

As the Hill holiday news blackout draws near, the list of noteworthy -- or, at least, advisory-worthy -- political events dwindles by the day.

Headlining the ministerial circuit today: Industry Minister Christian Paradis, who will pay a visit to Plessisville's maple syrup producers cooperative, during which he will unveil new support for the food and beverage processing sector, and "highlight the benefits" of the government's "innovation and growth agenda".

Meanwhile, in Exeter, Conservative MP Ben Lobb delivers an "important announcement in support of local youth."

Elsewhere in Ontario, Liberal leadership candidate Justin Trudeau spends the morning in Sturgeon Falls, where he will meet with local Liberals and take questions from French high school students, and then head to Sudbury, where he's slated to take a tour of NORCAT Robotics.

Finally, Environment Canada releases its annual Top Ten Weather Stories of the Year.

For up to the minute dispatches from the precinct and beyond, keep your eye on the Parliament Hill Ticker below -- or, alternatively, bookmark it and check back throughout the day.
