TIMELINE: Pamela Wallin's Senate career

A look at the former broadcaster's tumultuous time in Parliament's upper house

Aug 14, 2013

Pamela Wallin became known to Canadians as a reporter and news anchor, but has herself been the subject of headlines since her appointment to the Senate in 2008.

Shortly after she was unveiled as a new Conservative senator representing Saskatchewan, critics raised questions about whether she met the Senate's residency requirements.

Wallin has more recently come under fire for travel expenses she submitted over a two-year period. An independent auditing firm has spent months looking into her expenses; the audit has been referred to the RCMP and Wallin has been asked to refund more expenses in addition to $38,000 she has already repaid.
