On Oct. 31, 2013, Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair revealed that police had recovered files that contain "video images which appear to be those images which were previously reported in the press" - a reference to the video of Mayor Rob Ford that media reports alleged showed him smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine. The existence of the video was first revealed by two news outlets, the Toronto Star and the U.S. gossip site Gawker.
Mayor Ford has denied both the existence of the video and the claim that he used crack cocaine.
