Apple's mobile music device through the decade

When Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPod in October 2001, he promised nothing short of a "quantum leap in listening." The iPod, he boasted, could hold as many as 1,000 songs — practically your whole music library in a tiny device about the size of a deck of playing cards.
