Torrential rains doused Toronto on July 8, flooding streets and stranding commuters. An estimated 126mm of rain fell at Pearson Airport, besting the long-held record set when Hurricane Hazel dumped 121mm in 1954. The average rainfall for Toronto in July is 71 mm.
