I have been to the Valley! (And it's full of campaign lawn signs!)

Good day all!

The NDP started day two of the election campaign in traditionally Liberal/Socred country, the Fraser Valley

After a thorough technical briefing, Adrian Dix rolled out his economic and jobs plan.

Campaign Smarts

Today's Campaign Smarts looks at how quickly both main parties have come out of the gate revealing their campaign strategies.

The NDP taking their message to traditionally "safe" Liberal seats while the B.C. Liberals are showing they aren't afraid to take off the gloves and go on the attack.

First full day on the bus

7:00 a.m. - Afraid of being late, I was one of the first on the bus.I grabbed a seat at the back for a little extra room but am now a little concerned about motion sickness. With all the typing and reading I will be doing today on the road, it's pretty much a guarantee that I will end up a little under the weather.

The wheels on the bus

For the first couple weeks, I will be cruising the province with Christy Clark and the B.C. Liberals. And while my bags are far from packed, I am ready to go.

On Wednesday morning the bus will roll out at 7, leaving from the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver.

The party has been fairly tight-lipped about our itinerary. Other than letting us know when we will be back in Vancouver (Friday), we don't know what they have in store for us.

Off to the races!

The 2013 B.C. election is on and I started the day with bacon!

Adrian Dix's campaign bus rolled into the Museum of Vancouver for his first event, deep in Christy Clark territory. Asked about why he's starting in Vancouver Point Grey, Dix says, "It's a great place to start."

Boom or bust?

The big bubble of liquefied natural gas inflating the BC Liberals' campaign platform is bound to pop - or explode - well before voting day, deflating Premier Christy Clark's claim that her miracle cure-all is "no fantasy."

According to the Premier, five LNG plants will be enough to generate $1 trillion in economic activity, retire the $27 billion the Liberals' have added to the provincial debt, and still leave enough to create a $100 billion BC Prosperity Fund in just 30 years.

Game on!

Glad I wore a jazzy tie for this inaugural blog! (#cbc #bcpoli blog log-on!)

Elections in B.C. are a combination of cage match and road race, and it's going to be fun to be on both the NDP and B.C. Liberal campaign buses/planes/jeeps for the ride. I ASSUME there will be an ample supply of soft pretzels, a selection of mustards and WiFi.

Campaign excitement

This is my first crack at reporting from the campaign trail and the only way to describe how I am feeling right now is ecstatic.

I have been following politics since I was 12. My  parents saw it as odd, but supported my interest in the latest election or political scandal.

In the time I've worked at CBC, I have been behind the scenes on every federal, provincial and municipal election -- always the first one to volunteer for whatever role I could fit in.
