"Our pug adopted all of the stray kittens around as if they were his own," writes CBC Community member Kelly Penner. "The kittens loved him so much they would not leave his side for one second."

Talk about warm and fuzzy!

Kelly sent us this adorable photo, called "Pug Parent" from Landmark, MB.

Our photo contest pick from today comes from Melissa Connors in Aweres, Ont.

"My husband and I," she writes in the caption. "We have been together for a very long time and have raised our kids and have come full circle to being back home with no kids. It doesn't seem possible that they are no longer part of our daily lives.  Time now to reflect."

A gorgeous, touching image. Thank you for sharing, Melissa. Best of luck to you both!

Feb. 25

"Love is in the air!" wrote CBC Community member Emily Taylor when she sent us this photo of two beautiful pink flamingos forming a heart with their necks. "Love from the Flamingos <3"

We adore everything about this photo -- from the loving sentiment to the striking colours. One of the many, many great shots Emily has posted to her CBC Your News profile.

Feb. 22

Today's photo contest pick comes from CBC Community member Tammy Brisson in Saskatchewan.

"All nice and cozy, sweet little angel of mine," she writes in the caption.

If this shot of a beautiful blanketed babe isn't the very definition of "warm and fuzzy," we don't know what is! Thanks for sharing, Tammy.

Feb. 21

CBC Community member Annalisa Turner sent us today's photo contest pick from Quebec City, Quebec after a recent celebrity encounter with Bonhomme Carnaval!

The beloved ambassadord of the Québec Winter Carnival, stopped to greet Annalisia and her young one before the festival wrapped up Sunday.

It may have been chilly outside, but this scene is about as warm as they come!

Feb. 20

"Gentle waves along Lake Ontario seem to hold the attention of the Canada Goose gosling," wrote CBC Community member Kim B. in the caption of today's photo contest pick.

Kim spotted this downy little creature at the LaSalle Marina in Burlington, Ont. one sunny day looking just as warm and fuzzy as can be.

Great shot, Kim! We can't help but be just as mesmerized by this baby goose as he is by the water's movement.

Cuddling up under an umbrella with the one you love is a great way to get warm and fuzzy when it's raining outside. Just ask St. John's Rachel Sim, who sent us today's photo contest pick all the way from Amsterdam!

"This picture brings back a million memories that make me feel warm and snuggly," wrote Rachel in the photo's caption. "What could be better than traveling the world with your best friend?"

Feb. 15

"I couldn't decide which image to post of these horses so I made one pic out of four," writes CBC Community member and photo contest all-star Isabelle Marozzo. Isabelle sent us today's photo contest pick from Norland, Ont.

"I was watching them on a side of the road snapping pictures," writes Isabelle of her subjects. "They showed warmth and love for each other and that felt fuzzy to me :)"

Rest assured, it feels fuzzy to us too. What a sweet series of images!

A very happy Valentine's Day to all from Shae-bo the pug in Winnipeg, courtesy of his loving owner Lisa Horne.

Great snap, Lisa! Thanks for sharing your pug love with us :)

Feb. 13

Today's photo contest pick comes to us from CBC Community member Kathy Varty from Amherstview, Ont.

They're not very fuzzy, but Kathy and her grandson certainly look warm in those bright snowsuits on their toboggan!

Great shot, Kathy. Lots of love in this picture. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

Feb. 12

Today's photo contest pick comes to us from Antje Seipelt of Legal, Alberta.

"This picture was taken after a winter walk outside in January," she writes in the caption. "Zora, our husky/shephard mix made herself comfortable, cuddling her 'sheep', on her bed."

That warm, fuzzy, stuffed animal sheep she cuddles with was purchased by Antje's son when the family adopted Zora from a rescue society in 2012.

"She loves it so much and takes it anywhere in the house where she goes," Antje writes.

A touching story and an adorable photo. Thanks for sharing, Antje!

Did somebody toss their fur hat into some branches? Can a pussy willow grow that large? ... Alf?

It may be hard to tell what the subject of today's photo contest pick is at first glance, but after reading the title it all makes sense: "Sleepy Porcupine."

"This little fella was catching a snooze in a willow tree in our neighbor's shelter belt," wrote Diane Kacher of Aberdeen, Sask.

Diane sent us this photo through her CBC Your News Community profile over the weekend, and while he's probably not the fuzziest thing to touch, he certainly looks warm!

Feb. 8

Scott Telfer of Kitchner, Ontario sent us today's photo contest pick.  He calls it, "A Tims Commercial Outtake."

The image was taken in Kitchener, Ontario during today's snow storm.  It shows two guys helping push a police cruiser that's stuck in the snow.  The winter imagery and teamwork conjure a distinctly Canadian feel. It kind of makes you feel all, um, warm and fuzzy...

Feb. 7

Today's photo contest pick is called "Very Warm and a Little Fuzzy."

CBC Community member Brian Eastop sent us this shot from Ottawa, Ont.

"Our Granddaughter Kate just after waking up," he wrote in the caption. What an adorable little Canuck! Thanks for sharing, Brian.

Feb. 6

Our photo contest pick of the day comes to us from CBC Your News Community member Rachel Lambert.

"Making Valentine's Day card with my boys for our family back in Ontario," wrote Rachel, who hails from Calgary, in the caption of her photo.

We love this submission for many reasons. The content isn't warm or fuzzy in a literal sense, but that's exactly how it makes us feel inside.

Feb. 5

Michelle Mather sent us today's photo contest pick of her cat Lizzie from Toronto, Ont.

Says Michelle in the caption of this photo:

"I found her running down the middle of a busy road one cold February day. The road was slushy, there were snow banks along both sides and luckily I saw her and stopped my car. She jumped in as soon as I opened my door and climbed up on to my chest and covered my face with little kitty kisses of gratitude. She's been with me ever since and is the most beautiful and loving cat!"
Great shot, Michelle! Thanks for sharing your pet with us.

The first photo contest pick of February comes to us via Sherry White in Petty harbour, NL.

"In my short trip to India in January, I discovered Monkey's roam the Delhi streets the way squirrels do in Toronto," she wrote in the caption of her photo. "They are fascinating to watch."

This month's photo contest theme

li-460-wrapped-in-love.jpg
"Wrapped in Love" by Michael Cunliffe of Victoria won last year's February photo contest. (Trisha and Michael)

It wasn't just that the photo featured adorable twin babies -- it was the heartwarming story behind the picture that helped make Michael Cunliffe our photo contest winner last February.

"We took this photo shortly after our twins were born," he said. "I still think that their minds are melded. They are each other's best friend."

Cunliffe went on to explain that the boys were born in February and that the family learned something important on a Valentine's Day they spent in the hospital, while one twin underwent open heart surgery.

"These boys have shown us how important the heart is. Not only to keep the blood flowing through our veins, but in the love that we give and receive from one another every day."

Inspired by stories like this one, we are fully embracing the warm and fuzzy. For this February photo contest, we are celebrating all things lovable, huggable, and unabashedly heartwarming.

Send us your puppies, kittens, and blissful moments. Show us your toddler kissing their newborn sibling, or the way your grandparents still smile while they slow dance.

We're ready with our tissue boxes.
