For many Canadians, September is a month filled with transitions. It's is also one the most moderate times of the year in many places, striking the perfect balance between hot and cold, dark and light.
In the spirit of that sense of balance, we decided to make this month's photo contest theme all about Black and White photography.
We asked the CBC Community to send us their best monochrome snaps and were absolutely floored by the amount of incredible photos we received. It's safe to say that we haven't had this many photo contest entries in a single month for quite some time!
Many tough decisions and heated debates resulted, but using your feedback on Twitter, Facebook and in the comments, we were able to narrowed down this month's daily picks to five finalists:
Vote for your favourite shot here:
- Night Self Portrait by Ahmed Dassouki
- The Dingy by Kara Selke
- Gliders by Donald MacDonald-Ross
- Broken by Leanne Pacheco
- Monster Truck by Emily Taylor
The winner will be announced early next week!
