If you've ever wondered who the oldest person on Facebook is, her name is Florence Detlor. She's 101 and lives in California.Detlor visited Facebook's head office yesterday and met with chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Sandberg posted the picture of the three of them above on her Facebook page with the caption:
"Honored to meet Florence Detlor, who at 101 years old is the oldest registered Facebook user. Thank you for visiting us Florence!"The post received over 6,600 Likes and over 800 shares. Some of the commenters vowed to get their relatives, who were older than 101, to join the social network as a result.
According to Detlor's page, she lives in Menlo Park, California, graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1932 and has 652 friends. The profile lists her registration date as August 2009.
Her "About" section simply reads, "Looking for a good book to read."
Her timeline includes short posts such as, "I like to think of new friends," "Is a garage sale a good way to shop?" and "Another day ........ and the sun shines."
Who is oldest person you know on Facebook? Will you get your older relatives to join?
Do you plan to use Facebook into old age?
