For the last 35 of those years, the couple, from Fremont, Neb., has been meticulously coordinating their outfits. On any given day, Mel's tie and Joey's dress are cut from the same fabric.

They don't remember when or why the custom started, but these former flower shop owners say it's part of the glue that's held their partnership together for so long.

Their enormous closet is filled with 146 custom-made outfits, many with a floral theme. And they're not just for special occasions.

"Every day, my tie matches her dress," Mel told KETV in Omaha. "We don't dare go somewhere without having matching outfits."
