Should this honest drunk-dialer get a DUI charge?

Drunk dialing the cops led to a Pennsylvania man's arrest this week (iStock) A 23-year-old man did his part to keep roads safe this week by calling the police to report an impaired driver: himself.

Nicholas Lucke of Hamlin, Pa. was driving home Tuesday evening when he realized he was too drunk to be doing so. He stopped his car and called police to ask for help according to the Times Tribune, a local newspaper.

Pennsylvania state troopers arrived at the scene to find Lucke sitting in his parked Kia Spectra with the engine still running.

After determining that Lucke was, in fact, too drunk to drive, police arrested and took him into custody.

The Tribune reports that Locke was charged with driving under the influence.

Some online commentators have said Locke should be given a lesser punishment for his honesty, while others decry him for making such a dumb move in the first place.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Locke did the right thing by calling for help? Should he be charged with driving under the influence?
